I have been volunteering with RDA since March 2019.

 

The moments I particularly enjoy at Cobbes Meadow occur when our youngest riders trot on their ponies for the first time. Their faces light up, and even those who have apparently not responded positively thus far, let out a squeal of pleasure and/or start laughing. At that moment I realise that we are giving them a very special and meaningful experience. 

 

I believe that our riding sessions at Cobbes Meadow provide a unique opportunity for riders to grow in confidence and feel better about themselves as they develop their core strength and learn new skills. I am continually amazed at how mastering the skill of riding develops the desire and ability to communicate even in non-verbal children.

 

It is a wonderful feeling to know that one is making a difference and supporting others in broadening their horizons.
